Writer's Block: Showing your pride

Things I HAVE marched in the streets to support: School funding, gay rights, free spesch, reproductive rights, religious freedom. Things I've marched in the streets against: Vietnam war (although never the soldiers fighting it, my dad was in the Air Force until 1975), white supremacy.

I re-read Lord of the Rings each year, usually starting around Oct. Why is because I like to travel to Middle Earth each year.
I'm wierd about books. If I own it, it's because it's good enough to re-read. I normally don't buy books unless I've read them first, from the library or elsewhere. Then, if they're good enough, I buy them. I still have a library that threatens to take over the house.

Writer's Block: The long and short of it

I'm re-reading Les Miserables right now--at 1463 pages it's a contender for longest, although I honestly don't know if War and Peace is longer. In Search of Lost Time is longer, but I've always thought of that as being more than one book.
I've read children's books that have 5 or less pages, so I suppose one of those would be shortest.

Jun. 6th, 2011 08:33 amThe good: The demo rocked. I got to geek out about tailoring and sewing and shtuff for two days straight. Plus, I got a coif cut out and sewn Sat. and a wool petticoat cut out and about half sewn Sun. Our campsite, although a bit space challenged, was in a great place, and not too far to travel to the demo area.
The neutral: This was the muddiest event I've been to that it actually hasn't rained. Our table and chairs kept sinking into it. It could have been much worse (the rain last year comes to mind).
The Bad: I am really, really sick. I was feeling somewhat better Friday, but by Sat. afternoon, I was done. I think if there had been any way to get me home Sat. night and still have someone to handle the Tailor shop, I might have done it. As it was, I really didn't get out of the Shop or our camp, so I hope the rest of the event went well. I still feel like crap.
Last day of classes, and my final presentation in Sculpture today. Wish me luck.

Hmmm, would either have to be from Tacoma to Chicago, or Tacoma to Saskaschawan. I like driving long distances. I listen to music, talk with the people with whom I'm traveling (if there are any), look at scenery, and, if I'm alone, think. It's time for another long trip, but it doesn't look like that will happen this year. :-(

May. 24th, 2011 07:38 pmI am really sick. Made it to classes Monday, but had a friend pick me up from school and slept until Gwalchgwyn could pick me up and take me home. Didn't make it to class today, have slept most of the day except to get up when Gwalchgwyn made me food and to take medication. If it's not better tomorrow, I'm off to the Dr.
Well, this was a day.
May. 2nd, 2011 11:45 pmThe good: I picked up and filled out my application for graduation, and the form for my announcements, etc. And, while it is possible that I could fail every assignment and test in all my classes from now out, it's not likely, and so I really am going to graduate.
( Naval gazing here )
The bad: I grabbed the wrong pair of shoes and had wet feet all day as a result. I also forgot little, essential things for both of my sculpture projects, so I couldn't work on anything.
The really bad: I lost my camera at school today, and so far no one's turned it in. Not only am I out $$$ for the camera, but I had pictures for three different projects for two different classes on it, and I can't replace the pictures.
Here's hoping tomorrow is better.
