Things I HAVE marched in the streets to support:  School funding, gay rights, free spesch, reproductive rights, religious freedom.  Things I've marched in the streets against:  Vietnam war (although never the soldiers fighting it, my dad was in the Air Force until 1975), white supremacy.

I re-read Lord of the Rings each year, usually starting around Oct.  Why is because I like to travel to Middle Earth each year.

I'm wierd about books.  If I own it, it's because it's good enough to re-read.  I normally don't buy books unless I've read them first, from the library or elsewhere.  Then, if they're good enough, I buy them.  I still have a library that threatens to take over the house.

As a break and a rest from being human, I'm going to be a pampered ocicat or bengal in my next life.

The ability to speak and understand any language.  If I can't have that, good parking karma will do, although mine's pretty good.

For those of you who commented on my graduation picture, Gwalchgwyn took it, on the TCC campus, a couple of weeks ago.  He took a lot of great pictures, which I'll post on Facebook later, but this was my favorite.

I don't blush over much, but there's plenty of stuff I've done that makes me laugh out loud to remember.

I'm re-reading Les Miserables right now--at 1463 pages it's a contender for longest, although I honestly don't know if War and Peace is longer.  In Search of Lost Time is longer, but I've always thought of that as being more than one book.

I've read children's books that have 5 or less pages, so I suppose one of those would be shortest.

The good:  The demo rocked.  I got to geek out about tailoring and sewing and shtuff for two days straight.  Plus, I got a coif cut out and sewn Sat. and a wool petticoat cut out and about half sewn Sun.  Our campsite, although a bit space challenged, was in a great place, and not too far to travel to the demo area.

The neutral:  This was the muddiest event I've been to that it actually hasn't rained.  Our table and chairs kept sinking into it.  It could have been much worse (the rain last year comes to mind).

The Bad:  I am really, really sick.  I was feeling somewhat better Friday, but by Sat. afternoon, I was done.  I think if there had been any way to get me home Sat. night and still have someone to handle the Tailor shop, I might have done it.  As it was, I really didn't get out of the Shop or our camp, so I hope the rest of the event went well.  I still feel like crap.

Last day of classes, and my final presentation in Sculpture today.  Wish me luck.

I'm a mercrowcat:  Mermaid, crow and cat.  If you can draw that, I'd love to see it.

I used Carmen, with no last name, as my stage name.  It's exotic enough, it's my real name and it just worked.

Hmmm, would either have to be from Tacoma to Chicago, or Tacoma to Saskaschawan.  I like driving long distances.  I listen to music, talk with the people with whom I'm traveling (if there are any), look at scenery, and, if I'm alone, think.  It's time for another long trip, but it doesn't look like that will happen this year.  :-(

Rocky Horror Picture Show.  I first attended the first week it played in Seattle, and can't count the number of times I've been.  Sometimes you just have to take that "Jump to the left".

I am really sick.  Made it to classes Monday, but had a friend pick me up from school and slept until Gwalchgwyn could pick me up and take me home.  Didn't make it to class today, have slept most of the day except to get up when Gwalchgwyn made me food and to take medication.  If it's not better tomorrow, I'm off to the Dr.

So, where were you on this day in 1980?

I would throw it out to sea in hopes that no one could find it.  I would not want to be young forever while all those I love grew older and died, and I would not wish that fate on anyone else, either.

The good:  I picked up and filled out my application for graduation, and the form for my announcements, etc.  And, while it is possible that I could fail every assignment and test in all my classes from now out, it's not likely, and so I really am going to graduate.

Naval gazing here )

The bad:  I grabbed the wrong pair of shoes and had wet feet all day as a result.  I also forgot little, essential things for both of my sculpture projects, so I couldn't work on anything.

The really bad:  I lost my camera at school today, and so far no one's turned it in.  Not only am I out $$$ for the camera, but I had pictures for three different projects for two different classes on it, and I can't replace the pictures.

Here's hoping tomorrow is better.

I do eat the same breakfast every day:  Plain, greek-style yoghurt with granola.  If someone else was cooking, I'd add bacon to it, but that's it.  I find that if I vary my breakfast very much, my stomach and joints don't like it.
