Mar. 30th, 2011 07:32 pmAs of 12:30 this afternoon, I have my very own lair at school. My sculpture prof. had to think about what to do with me and my fabric, since I very obviously couldn't work with the rest of the clay, metal, wood, etc. in the main sculpture studio. Voila! There is a loft above the woodshop with a large desk, chairs and a locking file cabinet. After a bit of rearranging, and some cleaning, it's all mine until June 8th. I'll be doing my machine work at home, but at least one of the dress dummies will live at school, and all the cutting and good part of the handwork will be done in my lair. The best part? I can look down on everyone else.
So, project number 1 is cut, and completely planned out. Friday I'll see how much sewing/embroidery I can get done. With any luck, the supplies for project number 2 will be here by Monday. I'll have to haul water upstairs to work on the fabric painting, but that's doable.
