Gwalchgwyn and I already have our requests in to become pampered house cats. He's going to be a large tuxedo black and white, and I'm going to be either a Bengal or an Occicat. I figure at a maximum life span of 18-20 years, that will be a nice, relaxing break from being a human.

Things I HAVE marched in the streets to support: School funding, gay rights, free spesch, reproductive rights, religious freedom. Things I've marched in the streets against: Vietnam war (although never the soldiers fighting it, my dad was in the Air Force until 1975), white supremacy.

I re-read Lord of the Rings each year, usually starting around Oct. Why is because I like to travel to Middle Earth each year.
I'm wierd about books. If I own it, it's because it's good enough to re-read. I normally don't buy books unless I've read them first, from the library or elsewhere. Then, if they're good enough, I buy them. I still have a library that threatens to take over the house.

Writer's Block: The long and short of it

I'm re-reading Les Miserables right now--at 1463 pages it's a contender for longest, although I honestly don't know if War and Peace is longer. In Search of Lost Time is longer, but I've always thought of that as being more than one book.
I've read children's books that have 5 or less pages, so I suppose one of those would be shortest.

Hmmm, would either have to be from Tacoma to Chicago, or Tacoma to Saskaschawan. I like driving long distances. I listen to music, talk with the people with whom I'm traveling (if there are any), look at scenery, and, if I'm alone, think. It's time for another long trip, but it doesn't look like that will happen this year. :-(

It really depends. I live in a haunted house; however the ghosts are very happy ones and the place feels great. I've walked into places that would have been perfect to live in, except that they felt forboding and like I needed to get out NOW. It really depends what type of ghost and how the place felt.

Pt. Defiance park-- 702 acres of Forest, gardens, beaches, zoo, etc., all within the city limits. Although, I've got to say that the downtown/museum district is looking pretty good these days, too. Both of them have great views of Puget Sound and Mount Rainier. You actually have to work to make someplace ugly in this town.
