what a long strange trip......

carmenbeaudryWell, it's been a very eventful last 2 weeks. I went to KWAR (Known World Academy of Rapier, for those of you not in the SCA)in Denver, and taught my 17th century corset class. It was very well received, the classes I took, both rapier and costuming, were good, the evening feast and ball were wonderful, and my dress turned out stunning. I'd post pictures, but I'm not sure how to post them on LJ and I don't have a website.
I also got to spend some time with my friends David and Tamsen, who used to live with us, and now live in Denver. That was good, although I'd like a much longer visit. David came back with me so he could pick up his truck which I rescued from their son. He left to go back today, so I got a somewhat longer visit with him. Wade also left today, to spend Dad's Weekend at WSU with Katy, so I'm here alone except for Gwen, who is downstairs at her computer.
Now for the sucky stuff. I seemingly misplaced my wallet Tues. after I got home from the trip. It was annoying, but after all, I've misplaced it before. Well, when I couldn't find it today, I called the bank, thinking that as soon as I starting replacing things it would turn up. Oh, no....it actually was stolen. $600+ overdraft on my account due to my debit card being used and my credit card had $300 on it that wasn't mine. I won't be responsible for any of it, but the rest of today was spent closing my bank account and credit card, opening a new account, getting my Social Security and Medicare cards replaced, and all the other fun things involved in replacing everything in one's wallet. I'm going to get a replacement driver's license tomorrow and see about getting another disability card for my parking placard. I also need a new transit pass. The really hard one is going to be my CPL; but the nice policeman said that if I take the incident notification report form with me that it shouldn't be too bad and he thinks it's either free or reduced price to replace it. Sigh. This is not the way I wanted to spend this weekend. And, to top everything off, I won't be able to access my checking account or credit card for about a week. Oh, JOY.

That really sucks! I'm glad it will get straightened out eventually but wish you didn't have to go to all this trouble...
