Happy Beltane!

carmenbeaudryThose of you who read my journal, sorry for not updating more. I've been really busy, but the pay-off is today.
Most of the wedding clothes have been delivered to their respective wearers (with one major exception, which I'll get to), and dress rehearsal for the play is tonight. I have one costume which I had to make from scratch to finish by this afternoon, and one which needs a little alteration, and assorted shoe buckles and rosettes to make, but close to done. Oh, and I have to write instructions on how to dress, since I'm not going to be there for the performances.
The one exception to the wedding clothes are Tamsen's dress and chemise/leine. David told me Monday that there was a good chance that she'd be home before the wedding, so I've put in a couple long days getting it done. The dress is finished, except for the front eyelets, or lacing eyes, and I'm going to finish up the leine/chemise this morning and get it boxed and sent off today. Priority mail should get it to her. I got confirmation from her Tues. night that she was en route home, so with any luck she'll be home for Beltane.
I also talked to Dennis last night; he made it back Tues. my time/early Weds his. I'm so glad to have both of them home. My stress level has gotten considerably lighter, which should tell me how much of it was due to being busy and how much to worrying. I've pretty much figured out that the bad feeling I was having about someone close was probably about my mother's illness. She's doing much better, but the fact remains that she has emphysema, diabetie and hypertension, so life is much changed for her. Well, at least she's finally quit smoking.

I'm not doing much formal for the holiday this year, since I have to be other places than home, but I'm up early ("long before the day") and I'll be picking the May flowers as soon as I post this. I don't know if the Hawthorne has bloomed; it wasn't last night, but we'll see. At any rate, I have rowan, rosemary, blue bells, candytuft and all the bulbs blooming, so I should be able to come up with something nice.
