I just had my 4th of July moment: I was standing on my porch rail hanging my flag from the hooks on the porch eves, not paying attention to anything else, when I vaguely became aware of a couple of people standing on the sidewalk in front of the house. I finished what I was doing and looked up, to discover two young men, wearing tshirts and jeans, but from their haircuts they were obviously in the military. They were standing at attention and saluting my flag. They finished the salute, turned to me and said, "Thank you, ma'am", got into a car and left.

So, here's to two young soldiers who just made my day.
