The weather today matches my mood. It's stormy, rain and wind raging, with sudden short breaks of brilliant sun quickly engulfed by the clouds.
Usually Beltane is a day of rejoicing, of welcoming Spring. Today, both inside and out, it seems like Spring will never come. It's cold and wet, and feels much more like Feb. than May. My house is cluttered with porch furniture, waiting for a day warm and dry enough to finish the projects started the weekend before last, when the warmth and sun fooled me into thinking that there would be time enough to finish before the rain came again.
That's the problem. There's never enough time before the rain comes again.
Good-bye, Squire Jacques/Nick Dickhut. You went where your country sent you, did your duty and made the ultimate sacrifice. I wish I'd had more time to know you.
