Got up at 5 am to see The Man off to work. It was 32 degrees and raining, with the rain freezing as soon as it hit the 8 inches of snow on the ground. It had evidently been doing this for some time, as there was a 1/2 inch thick layer of ice on everything. Wade's taking the bus route off the hill, so, since he made it off our side street, his commute should be ok, and he's got studded tires, which is about as good as you can get on ice.

The milkman didn't make it here yesterday. I've got an email in to find out if he's going to deliver today, or if I need to put on my boots, find my wheelie cart, and walk out to the store. Luckily, the co-op is only 5 blocks away.

I completely forgot about the milk man! I hope he does not try to come today. It would be very treaturous if he did. Heck, we have not even gotten mail and folks are driving around on snow mobiles to get around up here.

We fortunately did a grocery run this weekend so we are good for at least a week on everything. But milk, yeah, we can survive a couple of days without milk. :)

We're in DT Tacoma, right off one of the main streets, so while our street isn't plowed, and is pretty slick, 6th Ave. is fine. I don't envy anyone living out of town, though.

Yeah, Tacoma Food Coop is where Tomboy's used to be. We still need a decent bakery in the neighborhood.

Now if Trader Joes would just come into Idaho, things would get much better around here. The nearest ones are Spokane, Portland and Bend. :{

The Whole Food Co-Op in Boise is simply a high priced poser with delusions of grandeur catering to Boise State students and the uptown person who can afford their prices.

However the local grocery chain [Pauls] still has good lamb so there *are* benefits.

I hope you did okay. I tried to walk the four blocks to the bus this morning in the deluded idea that I was going to work. fell twice before I got off my own front walk.

(nice and fast, didn't feel a thing but i was seriously wondering if I was going to have to crawl back up the frozen steps to the porch!)

called in and Olympia was worse off that we were!

you should see the idiots trying to drive around a 90 degree corner and for the most part, failing the test.

Yeah, me too. Now all we need is decent bakery.
