1880's ballgown
Apr. 16th, 2010 10:39 pmThis is made of some of the flimsiest, lightweight sari silk imaginable. All except for the lighter pink front panel, which is a fairly heavy brocade with real metal. So, it's underlined with some very nice cotton sateen, which I was given because it's a rather unfortunate shade of light swamp green. However, since the hem is faced and it will never be seen in public, I'm fine with that. The weight is perfect.
Oh, and that gold trim? That's the wrong side of it, the right side has a wide stripe of forest green down the center, but I have 45 yards of it, and this side works just fine.
