Ghosts on Broadway.....
Sep. 28th, 2003 09:06 pmSo, we just drove Evaria up to the Hill and returned. On the way, the stereo was blasting as usual (my car doesn't run without music playing), this time late 70's stuff. Which, of course, brought up a lot of memories and ghosts cruising Broadway.
I really miss Eric. He's been dead for 13 years and there are times it seems like yesterday. There has never been anyone who takes his place--some I've been closer to, but no one who embodies that crazy-but-down-to-earth-orphans-in-the-storm thing that he and I had. I remember both of us, the weekend after the Dancesteps were installed on Broadway, crazy-hyper from winning the dance contest at whatever disco was hot that week, still in tux and dance drress, trying out each of the steps at 3 in the morning. Or, the time we got stopped by the cops just outside of Volunteer Park in the pouring rain because we "looked like homeless people" until the cop realized that we were in our dance clothes again. OF course, we were both stoned to the gills for that one and afraid the cop would figure it out.
sigh,
crow
