AAARRRGGGHHH!!!
Feb. 23rd, 2005 03:18 pmWhy the hell does Earthlink have to fix stuff that isn't broken? Halfway through the morning, I suddenly can no longer send mail through Outlook. I can get it just fine, just not send anything using the browser. Well, after spending literally half the day online with Earthlink tech support, I can't send OR recieve mail, and they just told me that all my settings are right, but that Outlook must be corrupted and that I need to run Windows scan on it. Problem is, I need my Windows disk to do that, and it's at a friend's place, so I can't do any more until tonight. Also, I'm not filled with overwelming confidence, since the last thing they told me was to shut down my firewall and antivirus software since that could be interfearing with the outgoing mail. A, I have a hardware firewall, and B, if that's the case, then why has it worked up until this morning? The only real clue I have it that they suddenly have a new secure server, which evidently doesn't want to work with Outlook. I'm not going back to Earthlink's browser, it sucks really bad.

Date: 2005-02-24 01:13 am (UTC)Their tech support is fairly useless - they tell you to do the most assinine things sometimes. Honestly I think the only reason I stay with them is that changing is a hassle... This is probably also why I'm still on dial-up....
