Yesterday morning, I went to Fireman's Park in DT Tacoma to observe the Winter Solstice sunrise over Mt. Rainier. It was pouring down rain, but much drumming, chanting and singing was done, and the sun did come up.
On the way home I had a small adventure. I was waiting for the bus on Commerce Street, minding my own business, when up walked a women who was dressed ok, definitely clean and well groomed, but as she got closer I could smell the crack she'd been smoking. Evidently she didn't like something about me, because she started yelling to stay away from her shit, and just because I was dressed like Alice in Wonderland didn't mean I was better than her (wtf?), etc. She finally stepped a bit closer and made some comment about kicking my ass, so I went on guard, with my umbrella tip touching the ground ready to spike her in the chest if she came closer. According to one of the other bus riders, my expression was a classic "Make my day" look. I remember thinking that I really didn't need this shit. Anyway, she decided that she would wait for the bus elsewhere and took off.
The rest of yesterday and today was spent sewing. I'm late on finishing one full outfit for 12th Night, and alterations on another. Oh, and Evaria's sleeves need to be finished. We also had to work on Gwalchgwyn's brother and family Yule gift. We finished that today and got it mailed by 6 pm. I'm not as far as I'd like to be on the other projects, but the fitting today went well, and I think I'm in the home stretch, if I can just get the damn velvet to behave.
