A&S
It was mostly a good event, even with all the crazy things that happened.
Getting to the hotel and realizing that my garment bag with my dresses, skirts and chemises was still in Tacoma could have been a horrible start to the event; instead, I chose to see it as funny. Thank you to everyone who we (and Talon and Gwalchgwyn) called, but we were just too late to catch anyone who hadn't already left Tacoma. As it was, my apprentice took me to the local Joanne's, where we actually found linen on sale, and I spent 2 hours Friday night making a skirt.
I must apologize to everyone whom I may have offended on Sat. I was so out of it that I was literally staring off into space in the middle of conversations. Turns out that not only was the arthritis and fibro kicking my butt, but Sat. night I woke up to extreme stomach distress for about 3 hours. I felt much better Sunday, even though I was tired.
I did manage to get most of my bits of business done. I also had a mostly good time, even with feeling so bad.
countess_e made me cry a bit, but I've been crying about that particular situation quite a bit anyway, and thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks also to the many people who went out of their way to talk to me about a certain situation. You didn't tell me anything that I didn't already know or suspect, but I now have a concrete idea of how to work with the situation. Also, thank you to the many people who offered to help, I'll let you know if I think it will make a difference in a couple of weeks.
The trip home was mostly good, Apprentice 1 and I had good conversations about a lot of topics. We did get stuck in the backup from the wreck on the pass, but other than that, the driving conditions were great, and we made it home by 9.
Best part of the event: Lots of good stuff, but the look on Jack's face when he realized the King had just paid him with a Laurel medallion was priceless. I hope someone got it on camera.
Worst part of the event: Getting lost in the hotel after I left
landsknecht_po 's vigil. I rode the elevator up and down about 4 times before I remembered what floor my room was on, and then I couldn't remember what my room number was, and then I had trouble finding it. It took me almost an hour to find my way back to my room. I hate being that sick. I'm just glad that it usually doesn't happen at events.
